Within 3 blocks in all directions from Mi Escuelita is a park and playground, including Domino Park, a public park on the East River in Williamsburg, built on the site of the former Domino Sugar Refinery.
Playground
The playground is an exciting and safe spot for our children to play and enjoy the historic spirit of the place. An inventive series of mini-industrial experiences lead children through the sugar refining process; our children can go from the Sugar Cane Cabin to the Sweetwater Silo to the Sugarcube Centrifuge – each designed to resemble part of the actual factory that once operated here.
Water fountain
The playful water fountain, with its eighty-eight water jets and lights, is the perfect summer destination. Wearing bathing suits and plenty of sunscreen, Domino Park’s water fountain is a much needed retreat from the daily heat.
